TAPER LENGTH DRILLS

Taper length drills are general purpose drills with increased cutting length. They are manufactured with straight shanks of the same diameter as that of the flute diameter. Taper length drills derive their name from having the same flute length as taper shank drills. In Europe, these drills are known as Long Series Drills or Long Jobber Drills.

TAPER LENGTH DRILLS - FRACTIONAL SIZES

Taper Length Drill - High Speed Steel
For general purpose drilling where a longer than jobbers length drill is required.
Taper Length Drill - Cobalt
For heavy duty drilling in tough alloy steels, forgings, and casting.
Taper Length Drill - Heavy Duty
For deep hole drilling in hard steels, stainless steels, and other hard materials. Mfr. to NAS 907-B specs.
Taper Length Drill - Parabolic Flute
For deep hole drilling in a wide range of materials especially aluminum and mild steel. Parabolic flutes ease chip ejection. These drills are also known as Worm Pattern Drills.
Taper Length Drill - Carbide Tipped
For drilling cast iron and non-ferrous material.
Taper Length Drill - Automotive (Tang)
For applications where a longer than jobbers length drill is required. The tanged shanks are for use with positive drive split sleeve drivers.
Taper Length Drill - Fast Spiral
For deep hole drilling low tensile strength materials such as aluminum, magnesium, copper, zinc, and similar materials producing long stringy swarf. Excellent chip-clearing.
