| ICS files can be used to file a variety of materials and
shapes. The proper blade will provide maximum blade life
and high cutting efficiency. Selection depends on several
considerations. |
|
| |
- Aluminum (Flat) Files
- Aluminum Flat Files are designed with a special
tooth construction for filing aluminum and other soft metals with
a minimum of clogging. They are double cut and tapered in
width and thickness.
- Aluminum (Half Round)
Files
- Aluminum Half Round Files are designed with
a special tooth construction for filing both flat and curved surfaces
in aluminum and other soft metals. They are double cut and
tapered in width and thickness.
- "Cheesegrater"
Files
- Cheesegrater Files are designed for rapid work on all soft materials - wood,
aluminum, fiberglass, and laminated countertops. Flexible spring steel blades are
available in half round or flat styles. Teeth are razor sharp
and non-clogging.
- Flat Hand Files
- Flat Hand Files are designed for safe filing
of internal corners and where metal must be removed rapidly. One edge is uncut or "safe" for filing one surface
without damaging an adjoining one. They are double cut on both sides and one edge,
and parallel in width. Similar to Flat Taper Files but
taper in thickness and have one safe edge.
- Round Files
- Round Files are designed for enlarging holes
and shaping curved surfaces. They are
double cut and taper slightly to point.
- Half Round Files
- Half Round Files are designed for filing
both flat and curved surfaces. They
are double cut and tapered in width and thickness.
- Square Files
- Square Files are designed for filing slots,
key ways, grooves, square holes and edges, and for filing flat surfaces
where a heavier section is preferred. They are double
cut on all four sides and taper slightly to a point.
- Three Square
(Triangular) Files
- Three Square Files are designed for filing
internal angles above 60°, corners, grooves,
notches, and for filing HSS taps and cutters after machining. They are double cut
on all three sides and taper slightly to point. NOTE: This file
has sharp corners and is not recommended for filing saws.
- Flat Taper Files
- Flat Taper Files are designed for use where
metal must be removed rapidly and a smooth finish is not required. They are double cut on both sides with single cut edges and
tapered in width and thickness. Similar to Mill Files but thicker
in cross section and double cut.
- Knife Files
- Knife Files are designed in the shape of
a knife for filing slots, key ways, and acute angles. It is used primarily for tool and die work. They
are double cut on sides and have a thin single cut edge.
- Warding Files
- Warding Files are designed for filing in
narrow spaces where other files will not fit.
They are used by locksmiths to repair or file ward notches in keys. This file
is also useful for re-sharpening small drills. They are double
cut on sides and single cut on edges.
- Laminate Files
- Laminate Files are designed for lamination
work and precision work on plastics.
They have a unique chipbreaker tooth (diamond pattern) formation for fast, smooth cutting
and decreased clogging. They are single cut on edges and taper
slightly in width toward the point.
- Long Angle Lathe
Files
- Long Angle Lathe Files are designed for filing
work that is rotating in a lathe and for bench filing of aluminum
and copper alloys. The long bastard cut tooth is self
clearing when used at right angles to work. It cuts clean and does not drag or tear.
Both edges are safe (uncut) to protect shoulders of work which are not to be
filed. This file tapers slightly in width toward the point.
- Half Round (Pipe
Line) Files
- Half Round Pipe Line Files are designed for
filing weld beads and scale off pipe line.
The narrow, half round design gives more contact on edge for cleaning welds.
They are double cut and tapered in width and thickness.
- Mill Saw Files
- Mill Saw Files are designed as multi-purpose
files for sharpening saws, various cutting edge tools, draw filing,
lathe work, and finishing work on hard materials. They are
single cut on sides and edges, width is tapered slightly.
- Taper Saw Files
- Taper Saw Files are designed for sharpening
all styles of saws with 60° angle teeth.
They are single cut on edges and flat sides. Flat sides are equal and taper
towards point. NOTE: The side (size) of the file used should
always be a little more than twice as wide as the side of the saw teeth.
- Chain Saw Files
- Chain Saw Files are designed for sharpening
all sizes of chain saw teeth. They are
single cut and parallel in diameter.
- Double End Saw Files
- Double End Saw Files are designed for general
saw sharpening. They are triangular
in shape and are equivalent to a slim taper saw file. They are
supplied second cut with no tang and are tapered from center to each
end.
- Farmer's Own Files
- Farmer's Own Files are designed for sharpening
cutting edge tools, e.g., knives, hows, mower machine blades, etc. This file is also popular for working formica. They
are single cut on one side and double cut on the other side. Edges are not cut.
Self handled with 3/8" diameter hole for hanging up file.
- Needle Files
- Needle files are specially designed for jewelers, watchmakers, die makers, etc. The
appropriate cut number is marked on the round handle. To order specify order no. and cut
no.
- Needle File Sets
- Precision Files
- Precision Files are designed for fine finish
work and are used by tool and die makers, instrument makers, model
makers, and watchmakers. They are made to closer tolerances
than American Pattern files and are narrower in width and thickness. The
points of the tapered files are smaller for fine detail work.
- Precision File Sets
- Die Sinkers' Rifflers
- Die Sinkers' Rifflers are specially designed
for die sinkers for getting into crevices, corners, and contours
of dies and molds. They are also used by jewelers and
instrument manufacturers. Rifflers have a cutting surface on
each with a safe (uncut) middle section for handling and are available
in many different cross-sectional shapes.
- Silversmiths'
Rifflers
- Silversmiths' Rifflers are specially designed
for making glass molding dies. They
are longer than Die Sinkers' Rifflers and have wider cutting ends with a safe (uncut)
middle section for handling. Many different cross-sectional shapes
are available.
- Tile Files - Carbide
Grit Edged
- Carbide Grit Edged Tile Files are used to clean up sharp and uneven edges on cut tiles.
One end of file is 1/2 round and the other is flat.
- Hand Files - Carbide Grit
Edged
- Carbide Grit Edged Tile Files are used for filing ceramics, glass, tile, fiberglass, and
nonmetallic materials. Grit approaches diamond in hardness and wear resistance. All files
have an easy-grip plastic handle.
- Curved Tooth Files -
Flat
- Flat (with Tang) Curved Tooth Files are designed
for smooth, rapid work on all materials from the softest aluminum
to the hardest (annealed) steel without any clogging of the teeth. The undercut sharp edges enable the file to self clean and to remove material
in a spiral form similar to lathe turnings. It is considered
to be the most efficient file ever designed for auto body repair and
sheet metal work.
- Curved Tooth Files -
Flat Flexible
- Flat Flexible (Blade) Curved Tooth Files
are designed for smooth, scratch-free work on all types of auto body
and sheet metal work and where filing has to be done in the middle
of large surfaces. Flexible blades have teeth on both sides and
can be adjusted to file outward (convex) and inward (concave) or flat.
- File Handle
- Heavy Duty Plastic File Handles are ergonomically
designed to make work go safer and easier. Handles can be re-used.
- Chain Saw File Handle
- Adjustable Handle will hold all sizes of
chain saw files. End of handle is formed
for spark plug removal and installation. Proper guide sharpening angles of 30° and
35° are included on the handle tip.
- Curved Tooth File
Holder
- File Holder can be used with either flat
or half round flexible files without tang.
Handle is designed for right and left hand use. Screw
adjustment on turnbuckle can be tightened to flex file.
- File Card Cleaner
- File Cards are used to remove excess filing
which clog the teeth. This helps
prevent slipping or scratching and increases filing performance. Handle
has hole for hanging up.
- File Set - American
Pattern
- File Set - Riffler
- File Set - Needle
