TAPER SHANK DRILLS

Taper shank drills are general purpose drills with increased cutting length. They are manufactured with a Morse Taper Shank.

Taper Shank Drills have a tanged conical shank to fit directly into the tapered holes of drill press spindles, driving sleeves or sockets. They are deigned for general purpose drilling in ferrous or non-ferrous metals.
Taper Shank Drill - Gold Titanium Coated

Titanium Nitride Coated Taper Shank Drills are designed for high production drilling of ferrous and non-ferrous metals. Titanium Nitride Coating enhances chip flow, finished hole quality, and extends life of drill up to 700%.
Taper Shank Drill - Undersize Shank
Taper shank drills with shank one size smaller than usual for use in undersize drilling spindles were there is not sufficient room to accommodate an extension socket.
Taper Shank Drill - Oversize Shank
Taper shank drills with shank one size larger than usual produce more torque strength for heavy duty work. They also reduce time to change drill sizes.
Taper Shank Drill - Stub Length
Stub length taper shank drills have short overall length and short flute length. They are ideal for use in boring mills, screw machines, and lathes or where space is limited.
Taper Shank Drill - Heavy Duty - Oxide Finish
This drill was designed for drilling work hardening 300 series stainless steels (except 303). Special thin web will penetrate work hardening stainless fast enough to cut beneath the chip which is hardening from deformation.

Taper Shank Drill - Cobalt
Cobalt Taper Shank drills are made with a heavy duty web construction and have a higher red hardness than regular high speed drills. They are ideal for drilling high-tensile materials and where longer tool life is desired. NOTE: Because of the heavy duty work involved, some sizes have Morse Taper Shanks one size larger than is usual for the diameter.
